To no one’s surprise, one week after I published my New Year’s resolution to blog more, I forgot to post. I got so carried away with my free time over the long weekend that I didn’t write anything. Instead of simply apologizing to you all (even though I know nobody actually cares how much I post, other than maybe my mom), I decided this would be a great opportunity to tell everyone about all of the exciting things I do that get in the way of my blogging career.
Last weekend, instead of spending one (1) hour writing a mediocre but witty blog post, I…
Got brunch with my friends and stayed out all day watching football, despite not caring about any of the teams playing (or really about football in general, unless it’s Nebraska).
Went to my first ever Pilates class because I am fab, fit and fun in 2019.
Shopped for workout clothes so I can look extra fab whilst being fit and fun.
Went to Target and only spent $83 on things that weren’t on my shopping list. Mainly protein bars and vitamins (those things are EXPENSIVE, okay?).
Decided protein bars are disgusting, regretted spending any money at all on them.
Started messaging Tinder matches from 2014-2017 to see how they would respond. Most ignored the three year gap in communication. I’m definitely entertained.
Welcomed ANOTHER Nebraska friend to New York (hi Taylor!!!!!).
Made buffalo chicken dip and called it dinner. I love cooking.
Almost took a taxi to Whole Foods because I was so cold waiting for the bus. Did not take a taxi.
Spent $72 at Whole Foods.
Unpacked my groceries from Whole Foods.
Sat on the couch alone and watched Say Yes to the Dress.
Ordered some photos to hang on my wall because it took me seven months to decide on décor for my room.
This weekend, while procrastinating writing about procrastination, I…
Picked up the aforementioned photos from CVS after days of not wanting to walk two blocks to get them.
Walked 46 blocks around the Upper East Side by myself on a Friday night for no clear reason. It was freezing. I wish I had an explanation.
Went to brunch, obviously, but actually went home after.
RSVP’d yes to a party and actually showed up. This is new for me.
Hung out with Nebraska people at said party. Carlos brought Runzas and I almost cried.
Only spent $43 at Whole Foods, so you could say my budgeting skills are improving.
Cooked some eggs and spilled them all on the floor after taking one bite.
Hung up the pictures I finally picked up from CVS. How long do we think Scotch tape will hold them up? I’m skeptical.
Watched RENT Live and wasn’t as disappointed as I thought I’d be. Apologies to my friends on Snapchat who did not subscribe to my realtime review of the performance.
Packed a lunch to bring to work because I am an ADULT who bought WAY TOO MUCH deli meat last week.
So as you can all see, I am absolutely swamped 100% of the time, and blogging just barely fits into my schedule. Writing is one of my favorite things to do, but sometimes we have to sacrifice our hobbies in favor of more important activities like brunch, grocery shopping and sitting on the floor staring blankly out the window for hours at a time. I want to be totally transparent with you, my loyal readers, so you know exactly what I’m going through and why it’s sometimes not possible for me to post every week. I hope you can all forgive me for missing a week so early in the year. I will do my best to get back on track and continue bringing you all the sarcastic content you deserve.
XOXO
